Caldos De Gallina El Negro is a beloved soup restaurant nestled in the vibrant neighborhood of Guadalupe, Iztapalapa, offering a comforting taste of traditional Mexican caldo de gallina. Located conveniently on Av. Tlahuac 3725, this local gem has earned a loyal following thanks to its rich, savory chicken broth that warms the soul at any hour of the day.
The highlight here is undoubtedly the caldo de gallina itself, a dish that bursts with hearty, well-seasoned flavors, tender chicken pieces, and a fragrant blend of herbs that invite you to savor each spoonful. Patrons praise the restaurant for its authentic preparation, with the broth striking the perfect balance between boldness and subtlety. It’s no surprise that Caldos De Gallina El Negro is often hailed as the best in the area, delivering exceptional value for a dish deeply rooted in Mexico City’s culinary tradition.
The atmosphere is casual and welcoming—ideal for a morning pick-me-up, a satisfying lunch, or even a late-night meal, as the place remains open nearly 24 hours. This flexibility makes it a rare sanctuary for comfort food, especially for those craving a delicious caldo to soothe the day or night. One regular enthusiastically notes that it’s the perfect spot for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, even as late as 2 AM.
While the core offerings impress, honest feedback from customers suggests room for thoughtful enhancements. Some diners note the absence of complementary organ meats like mollejas, corazón, and hígado, which are traditional accompaniments that could deepen the dish’s authenticity. Others mention the desire for freshly made tortillas and quesadillas to accompany the caldo—components that could elevate the experience by adding texture and warmth alongside the broth. The salsa selection is also limited, typically offering just a single type alongside onion with habanero; expanding this array could provide guests with exciting flavor variations and heat levels to suit their tastes.
From a service perspective, the pricing is consistently praised for being very affordable, making it accessible for everyday dining. However, as we step further into 2024, payment options appear a bit traditional; a customer rightly suggests introducing card payment terminals, especially as neighboring vendors have adopted this convenience.
In summary, Caldos De Gallina El Negro delivers a deeply satisfying, authentic caldo de gallina experience anchored by genuine flavors and a warm, lively environment. It’s the kind of place that welcomes you like an old friend—perfect for those seeking both comfort and tradition in the heart of CDMX’s bustling Iztapalapa area. With a few thoughtful updates, it could easily transform into an even more dynamic culinary destination while preserving its beloved character.

La comida en general es muy buena y a buen costo. Les sugiero que agreguen pagos con tarjeta, estamos en el 2024, quienes venden tortas a un lado ya tienen terminal, ustedes también deberían.
